As someone who loves throwing parties, I've compiled the ultimate checklist for hosting an unforgettable party at home. Whether planning a casual dinner party or a fancy cocktail soirée, this checklist will help you stay organized and on top of everything.

Three Weeks Before

The first thing you should do is make an invitation list. Then, decide on a theme if you want one, and send out the invitations. Of course, the menu is also essential, so better plan it.

Additional tip: In the RSVP, ask your guests about food allergies so you can avoid serving it to them during the party. Inform your guests of any dress code, too! 

Two Weeks Before

Now is the time to start cleaning any crystal, china, and silverware you'll use. Also, come up with a playlist to set the party's mood. Lastly, you can do a first round of grocery shopping and cooking.

One Week Before

One week before the party, it's time to clean the house thoroughly. Set the stage by rearranging furniture or adding decorations. Take inventory of cookware and serving dishes, and stock the bar with your favorite drinks.

Remember to remind guests about the party one week in advance and check the weather forecast. Notify your neighbors about the event and create a seating chart for guests!

Three Days Before

Three days before the party, it's time to decorate your home. Check the medicine cabinet and set up clean-up stations. Specify a place for coats, and finish grocery shopping.

One Day Before

Set the tables, buy and arrange flowers, and finish as much cooking as possible. Finally, give your house a once-over to ensure everything is ready for the big day.

Day of the Party

It's the day of the party! Finish any last-minute cooking, place chairs, and display food. Greet guests as they arrive, and remember to have fun!

After the party, consider hiring a cleaning service to help clean up. Lastly, organize games and activities for the event to keep your guests entertained.
